Start with an operational question—not a tool.

Before replacing a platform or adding automation, identify the customer problem and the operational conditions behind it. A growing backlog may reflect unclear ownership, missing knowledge, avoidable repeat contact or a mismatch between demand and capacity. The same symptom can have different causes.

Review the foundations.

Use the checklist to organise the discussion. A tick means you have evidence to review—not a certification score. Your selections stay on this page and are not submitted.

Turn observations into an owned backlog.

Record the evidence, the customer impact, the accountable owner and the next decision for each gap. Distinguish an immediate workaround from a permanent fix. Agree how you will know the change worked before implementation starts.

What evidence should you bring?

Useful inputs include anonymised sample interactions, process documents, quality rubrics, demand patterns, service definitions and system handoff rules. Share only information you are authorised to disclose; do not send confidential customer records through the public enquiry form.
